The Summer Songs

Introduction

These Summer Songs

After too many months,

 Of life shut in.

Our worship of the sun,

Is about to begin.

Spring has ended,

 Winter’s cold days.

And is leading us on,

To summer’s ways.

Warmer times,

Are here to stay.

As clothes come off,

 And are put away.

These lazy days,

Will be gentle and warm.

As summer’s fun,

 Will soon be the norm.

Winter or spring?

Neither one belongs,

It’s time to sing,

These Summer Songs.

Mr. Woodward has traveled extensively, visiting or living in forty-six countries while keeping a journal of the entire sixteen-year adventure.  Many of his stories and poems are derived from those journals.
